Many analogies exist between nanostructured quantum systems, and trapped, ultra-cold atom gases. A new road-map is drawn in connection with the newly emerging research field of “atomtronics”.

The Symposium brings together scientists from the fields of cold atom gases, mesoscopic physics, and nanoscience. The aim is to provide a forum for interdisciplinary discussions, where improvements of our fundamental understanding of new quantum phases for technological applications are of particular concern.

Topics include:

· Quantum Theory of Many-Body Systems

· Cold Atoms in Traps and Lattices

· Rotating Quantum Gases

· Semiconductor Nanostructures

· Atom Chips and Atomtronics

· Quantum Transport with Atoms

· Cold Exciton Gases
