I will discuss an ongoing work on bosons in an optical lattice. My focus will be to discuss progress and some new interesting features and possibilities of the phase-diagram when bosons can also occupy higher bands of an optical lattice. For example, I will adress the possibility of transitions between various insulating Mott phases.
