Description:
Time-dependent Density
Functional Theory (TDDFT) has become a major tool for treating
excitations in complex systems. As one project, the successful
candidate may work on quantum transport in nano-scale
systems
such as dots and wires .
The intended approaches are based on TDDFT and on non-equilibrium
Green's functions (NEG). Steady-state transport, transient and a.c.
phenomena, and transport in systems exposed to external possibly
time-varying fields will be studied. Other possible projects are
effects of vibrations in molecular conductance, and effects of
entanglement and noise in mesoscopic conductors.
TDDFT is also well suited for studying optical properties. Here, the
goal is to obtain accurate results including the important effects of
electron-hole interaction without having to use the more involved
methods based on many-body perturbation theory.
For complete
information see the
ANNOUNCEMENT.
The
application
should be made on a special form. The signed application and other supporting
documents should be sent to

Arbetsbeskrivning:
Tidberoende täthetsfunktionalteori (TDDFT) har blivit en allt
viktigare teoretisk metod
`non-equilibrium Green's function theory', (NEG).
